Welcome to the Ng'iresi School website.  Ng'iresi is a small agricultural community of about 2,800 people located about 7 km north of Arusha, Tanzania, on the slopes of Mt. Meru. Most of the inhabitants of the village are farmers of the Wa-arusha tribe, a family of the Masai who have gradually shifted from pastoralism to agriculture.  Ng'iresi School Raising Project
Like everywhere in the world, education is the key to a better future for the young people of Ng'iresi.  Ng'iresi School has 900 students and 14 teachers, which includes the Schoolmaster. Of the 900, 300 (7 & 8 year old first graders) are new this year by government order. The School has 11 classrooms, which are not designed to hold the number of students they now have. The children of Ng'iresi School  are also in need of many basic school supplies.  Even a small contribution can make a real difference for them.
